Whimungo infielder Kim Min-seok, who will wear a Lotte Giants uniform next season, will receive the Lee Young-min batting award given to the best amateur hitter.

On the 16th, the Korea Baseball Softball Association announced the list of winners in each category of the ‘2022 Baseball Softball Night’ event. Kim Min-seok receives the ‘Lee Young-min Batting Award’, and the high school excellent player award goes to Yun Young-cheol (Chungam High School, KIA nomination). 

Kim Min-seok showed off his outstanding batting skills with a batting average of 0.544 (37 hits in 68 at-bats) in the high school baseball weekend league and the National High School Baseball Championship this year. Thanks to this performance, Kim Min-seok wore a Lotte uniform with the 3rd overall pick in the KBO rookie draft. 메이저놀이터

The High School Outstanding Athlete Award goes to Choongam High School pitcher Yoon Young-chul, who was nominated by the KIA Tigers as the second overall pick in the rookie draft. Yoon Young-cheol played 15 games this year and recorded an average ERA of 1.66 with 13 wins and 2 losses.

The University Outstanding Pitcher Award is given to Sungkyunkwan University Lee Jun-ho (NC Dinos Designation), and the Best Hitter Award is Dankook University Yoo Hyun-in (KT Wiz Designation).

Meanwhile, Seongnam High School infielder Gong Do-hyeok, who saved a man in his 50s who collapsed last August with CPR, became the protagonist of the Model Award. For the Kim Il-bae Leadership Award, head coach Jeon Gwang-yeol, who led Gyeongnam High School to the Golden Lion Championship, was selected as the winner.

The award ceremony will be held at the ‘2022 Baseball and Softball Night’ event held at the Seoul Garden Hotel at 6 pm on the 19th.
